A Word To The Wise…

What is the procedure to consign my furniture?

If you are interested in consigning with us,  we kindly request that you email pictrures of the items you wish to consign to ladies@churchladiesduluth.net.  Both owners, Jackie and Connie, will review your item(s) and notify you regarding what items would be a good fit.  For both our convenience and yours, we ask that you  schedule an appointment and bring the items in on the agreed upon date.  Please call us at 770.476.4008 with any questions.

How long is my consignment period?

The consignment period spans 3 months.

First month – Full price

Second and third months – 10% markdown each month

After 90 days you have 7 days to pick up your unsold item(s). Unclaimed items will become the property of Church Ladies to sell or donate after the 7 days.  IT IS UP TO THE CONSIGNER TO KEEP UP WITH THE EXPIRATION DATE.  You will NOT be notified by Church Ladies. 

We have several one-day sales per year.  Your items will be subject to an additional 20% markdown on that sale day.

We offer 10% military discount, and 10% for senior Wednesday.

 

How long will you hold my check?

Checks will be valid for 180 days so please come in to pick them up as soon as you are notified by email.

 

How much can I expect to get for my items?

You will receive 50% of the actual selling price excluding sales tax.  Pricing is always a decision made in partnership with our consignors, but condition, style, manufacturer’s reputation, and original purchase price are all factors in the pricing equation. We are confident that you will find that our pricing to be appealing to your bargain hunting senses

 

What about pick up or delivery services?

Church Ladies can provide you names of preferred delivering services that can pick up or deliver your furniture.  However, it is up to you to make all arrangements with the independent service including scheduling and cost.

 

What do you accept for consignment?

We accept gently used furniture and accessories from most time periods, but it must be in very good condition – no stains, tears, chips, etc.  Church Ladies reserves the right to refuse any furnishing for any reason at any time.

 

What do you NOT accept for consignment?

Entertainment centers, baby furniture, mauve anything, burgundy & navy anything, florals, bedding, window treatments, dish sets, glass sets, stuffed animals, smokers’ furniture, large rugs and electronics.

 

May I pick up my items early?

You may pick up your items early, but there will be a charge of 15% of the original price.  This will be due on the pickup date.

 

Are all sales final?

YES!

 

Do you accept Christmas items?

We will accept Christmas items beginning October 1 through November 15.  Please note that we do not follow the same markdown structure as every day items.  We will begin markdowns at the beginning of Dec. and by the end of Dec. they will be at 50% off.  You may pick up any unsold items without the 15% penalty.  All items not been picked up by January 15 will be donated.
